A Message from the Commodore - 12/14/23

Dec. All Fleet Race - Sunday 12/17- CANCELLED - Due to weather

Hi Everyone,

We had a fantastic turnout last Sunday, 12/10, for our December meeting and elections. Thanks to everyone who came and participated!!!

I would like to thank Ken Nusbaum (Secretary), Nancy Parker (Treasurer), and Kim Steiert (Fleet VC) for serving on the HSA BOD this past year! You all put in a lot of time and effort into your roles and your hard work, along with the rest of the BOD, has helped HSA to move forward tremendously this past year. Thank you very much!!! We appreciate all you have done for HSA!

I would like to congratulate and welcome our new BOD members for 2024 - Tonya Sands (Secretary), Caroline Martin (Treasurer), and Dan Biringer (Fleet VC). We are excited to have you join the BOD. We look forward to great things in 2024!!

Last Sun. 12/10, we also had a remote-controlled sailboat demonstration in front of HSA.  Bill Well and 3 other remote-control operators came to the club to do this for us. It was very cool. They're hoping we'll invite them back again!! Yes we will. Look for another demo sometime in 2024.

As the month and year wind down, our activities will slow down too. This weekend, the youth program will have their last practice of this season on Saturday, 12/16 (weather permitting). Then they'll have a holiday party. They'll return for Spring racing in mid-January 2024.

We have an All Fleet Race scheduled for Sunday, 12/17, but we are cancelling it due to the extreme winds and weather predicted for Sunday. 

The following two weekends take place during the Christmas and New Year's holidays, so our next social gathering will be the January Reilly's Run, which will take place on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024 (weather permitting).

I'll send out a "year-in-review" type of message next week to let you know about all the great stuff that got accomplished this year! Stay safe this weekend.
