Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Here's a message from our current treasurer, Nancy Parker -

I need to close out my books for the year. If you require reimbursement please submit requests as soon as possible and no later than Thursday, December 14th. Thank you.

Remember - Thursdays are workdays!! Always lots of stuff to get done on Thursdays. Come join us!

Here's what's going on around HSA in the next couple of weeks -

1) Sat. Dec. 2, Dave Dunn will run a youth race team practice, starting at 10 AM.

2) Sun. Dec. 3, the December Reilly's Run. Please note - new time!! Skippers meeting at 12:30, racing begins at 1:30. We'll do our usual cookout after sailing. Please bring a dish to share and BYOB.

3) Sat. Dec. 9, Lisa will run a youth race team practice, starting at 10 AM.

And here's the important date to put in your calendar!

4) Sun. Dec. 10, our final General membership meeting of 2023. This will be a busy day and an important meeting. Here's what's going on on 12/10 -

a) @1 PM Women's Sailing/Open Sail for members

b) @ 2 PM - A Radio-Controlled Boat demonstration in front of HSA

c) @ 4 PM - the General Membership meeting begins

- We will be holding our elections for BOD members. Candidates will introduce themselves, then we'll vote.

- We will also be providing an end-of-year report on everything we've accomplished this year.

d) @ 4:30/5:00 PM - a Holiday Cookie Exchange.

Re: Voting and elections -

- As you may know, we need to replace 3 board members for 2024. Kim Steiert (Fleet VC), Nancy Parker (Treasurer), and Ken Nusbaum (Secretary) are completing their service on the BOD at the end of December. Thank you all for your time and dedication!! Currently, I have 3 HSA members who have indicated that they're interested in running to serve on the BOD in 2024. This includes - Tonya Sands (Secretary), Dan Biringer (Fleet VC), and Carolina Martin (Treasurer). These positions are open to all HSA members. The one requirement is that you must be a full-time resident. If anyone else is interested in running for one of these positions, please let me know ASAP. I plan to put in a small blurb about each of the candidates in next week's message.

- What if you aren't able to attend the meeting (because you're out of town or ill, not because you don't want to attend)? I will send out next week's message on Monday morning and will include a Word document with the ballot. If needed, you can print out the ballot, complete it, add your name and signature to it, and send it to -

HSA - Election - P.O. Box 2031, Daytona Beach, FL 32115-2031

*The mailed copy must be received by Saturday, 12/9/23.

That's all for this week! Hope to see you at HSA soon!!

Fair Winds,

Lisa
