2008 Florida Women’s Sunfish Championship

Since its inception the Women’s Florida State Sunfish Championship has been held on the West Coast of Florida. Past winners include Gail Heausler (2001, 2002), Ursula Olson (2003, 2005, 2006), Rita Steele (2004) and Cindy Taylor (2007).

All Women Sunfish Sailors are invited to participate in this sailing event for the perpetual trophy. Racing will take place on the beautiful Indian River Lagoon across from Kennedy Space Center . Winner decides where the event takes place the following year.

This regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008, the International Sunfish Class (ISCA) rules, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. It is the competitor’s decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race. Competitors are ultimately responsible for any risks. Competitors accept full responsibility for their actions during this event.

Registration and check in:                           9:00 am to 11:30 am

Competitor’s meeting:                                  Noon

Warning signal for first race:                        Immediately following competitors meeting. Number of races:                           At the discretion of race committee

Trophies:                                                        Perpetual trophy. Other trophies at discretion

This is a no frills event.

Entry fee $10.00. Entry fee collected day of race. Entry fee could be lower based on number of expected competitors. Contact Cindy now so number of competitors can be determined.

Sailing instructions will be available at registration.

The race course will be set East of Kennedy Point Park, Titusville , FL.
