The 2008 Gary Gorden Memorial Thunder Mug Regatta

 

Race Instructions

1       RULES 
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing as set forth by HSA's Race Committee.

2       ENTRIES
Competitors may enter by delivering a completed entry form and paying the $25. entry fee to HSA before 12: - noon on 04/13/2008.

3       SCHEDULE 
Registration 9am - 12pm 
Skippers meeting (mandatory)  12:15pm
Starting line set  12:45pm
Start of first race 1:00pm

4        COURSE
The course will be displayed on the chalkboard at the HSA.

5        TIMING 
All times will be based off of an official race clock.  This clock will be displayed on under the HSA pavilion to allow set their own watches.

6       TIME LIMIT
The time limit for the Thunder Mug race will be 4 hours for the first boat to finish. Boats finishing more than 2 hours after the first boat that sails the course finishes will be scored DNF without a protest hearing. 


7        PROTESTS
Protests shall be written down with illustrations and a detailed description. All necessary information should be appropriately cited. 

8       SCORING
The  Portsmouth yard stick scoring system will be used.
 
9        CLASSES
Multihull
Dingie's (smaller then 20 feet) 
Boats 20 foot and over (OVER ALL LENGTH) 

10     TROPHIES
Trophies will be awarded as follows. 
1)       The Thunder Mug trophy will be awarded to the boat with shortest corrected time of a HSA  member. 
2)      Gary Gordon trophy will be awarded to the boat with shortest corrected time.
3)      1st, 2nd, 3rd, places in Offshore class, Multi-hull and Center board classes.  Class is 20 ft or greater for offshore
