2010 Adult Sailing Class Schedule

ADULT SUNFISH Classes begin March 27^th

Cost: $120               Class size:  12 students, 15 max.

Class Objective:  To teach Basic Sailing skills to students who have limited or no sailing experience.

Class boat:  Sunfish-boat is a one person sailboat, 13’10”, with one sail.

Prerequisite:  Must know how to swim and be in good physical health.

(1)   Spring Adult Sunfish Class dates:  (3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17)

(2)   Early Summer Adult Sunfish Class dates:  (6/5, 6/12, 6/19, 6/26)

(3)   Summer Adult Sunfish Class dates:  (7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31)

 

ADULT DAY SAILOR Classes begin August 14^th

Cost: $75                 Class size:  8 students, max.10

Class Objective:  To instruct two students (per boat) how to sail together as a team when sailing a Day Sailor boat.

Class Boat:  Capri-boat is a two person sailboat, 14.5’, with a mainsail and jib.

Prerequisite:  Must know how to swim and be in good physical health.  Must have completed Sunfish class. Class prerequisite may be waiver at the instructor’s discretion

(1)   Summer Adult Day Sailor Class dates:  (Aug. 14^th and Aug. 21^st )

(2)   Early Fall Adult Day Sailor Class dates:  (Aug. 28^th and Sept. 11^th )

(3)   Fall Adult Day Sailor Class Dates:  (Sept. 18^th and Sept. 25^th )

 

CREWING & RIGGING of LARGE SAILBOATS Classes begin October 9^th

Cost: $75                 Class size: 12 student, max. 15

Class Objectives:  To teach students the professional way to crew and how to rig various large sailboats. Prerequisite:  Must know how to swim and be in good physical health.

(1) Early Fall Crewing & Rigging Large Sailboats dates: (Oct. 9^th and Oct.16^th)

(2) Fall Crewing & Rigging Large Sailboats dates:  (Oct. 23^rd and Oct. 30^th)

Class sessions each day are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
