3.            ORGANIZING AUTHORITY AND HOST

a.      Halifax Sailing Association (SCI)

4.             RULES

a.      This regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

5.             ADVERTISING

a.      This regatta is classified as a Category A

6.             ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

a.      4.1 The regatta is open to all boats that can have a Portsmouth Handicap number

b.     4.2 Eligible crews may be entered by completing an entry form and registering with the organizing authority and paying the entry fee.

           7.           REGISTRATION AND FEES

a.      5.1 Registration is requested to be made in advance at www.fleet80.com.  Registration can be made the day of race at HAS.

b.     5.2 Fees, $25. Single handed and $30. For crewed boats.  Covered dishes are requested and greatly appreciated.

            8.          SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

a.      6.1 Saturday, 20 March

                                                              i.      08:30-11:00 Check in and Late Registration

                                                           ii.      12:00            Competitors Briefing

                                                         iii.      13:00              First Signal

                                                         iv.      Dinner and Social time shortly after the last boat finishes the race. 

            9.           SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

a.      Sailing Instructions will be made available at check-in.

10.                       COURSE

a.      A detailed course chart will be specified in the Sailing Instructions.

         11.                       PRIZES

a.      The notorious “THUNDER MUG” will be awarded to the boat with the lowest 

              Portsmouth corrected time.

b.      The “STAR GAZER” Gary Gordon trophy will be awarded to the boat with    the lowest Portsmouth Time          

c.     The top three finishers in the Offshore, Dingy and Multihull will receive    awards.

12.                        SAFETY

a.      All competitors sailing HSA owned boats shall where a PFD.  All Youth sailors shall where a PFD.
