Pete Haley |
Peter started sailing as a youngster in Racine, Wisconsin, on the family's Snark. In Jr. High school, he started racing offshore boats at the Racine Yacht Club. Hooked on racing, they moved to Daytona Beach and he fell in love with Hobie Cats, traveling across the Southeast to regattas for the next 20 years. Five years ago an invitation to teach the youth summer camps at Halifax Sailing Association changed his heading and Halifax Youth Sailing was born with the combined efforts of the children and families involved in the youth program. Today, they have a core group of youth sailors sailing year round. |
